AI visibility refers to how often and how accurately large language models like ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude reference your website when answering user questions. As more people turn to AI assistants instead of search engines, being cited by these systems is becoming as important as ranking on Google. If your site isn’t structured in a way LLMs can interpret, you’re invisible to a growing share of your potential audience. How does citelayer® actually get my site cited by AI? citelayer® doesn’t directly control what LLMs say — no tool can. What it does is optimize the signals that influence citation: structured Schema.org data makes your content unambiguous and machine-readable; consistent entity markup establishes topical authority; and monitoring helps you understand what’s working so you can improve continuously. Think of it as technical groundwork that makes citation more likely. Will this slow down my WordPress site? No. citelayer® is built with performance as a constraint, not an afterthought. Schema injection is handled at render time with minimal overhead, and all monitoring runs server-side via scheduled background tasks. Your page load times are not affected. Does citelayer® work with my existing SEO plugin? Yes. citelayer® is designed to coexist with Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, and other common plugins. It adds AI-specific structured data without overwriting your existing schema setup. If there’s a conflict in a specific configuration, our support team will help you resolve it. Does citelayer® measure my AI Visibility? Not directly yet. citelayer® does not currently include an AI Visibility Dashboard or score tracking. What the plugin does today is create the technical foundation AI systems need before visibility can be measured: Schema.org markup, llms.txt, and Markdown output help ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI tools find, parse, and understand your WordPress content more reliably. In short: clean, machine-readable content comes first. Measurement can only be meaningful once the underlying data is structured and accessible. I’m not a developer. Can I still use citelayer®? Yes. citelayer® is designed for non-technical WordPress users as well as developers. The setup wizard walks you through configuration step by step, sensible defaults are applied automatically, and you don’t need to write any code. If you run into questions, the documentation covers common setups in plain language.
