citelayer® Quick Start: Check Your First Page

2 min read

Get a useful baseline by checking a real page and the responses an agent can request. Installation is the beginning of verification.

1. Confirm the active setup

Open Plugins and note the citelayer® version, WordPress version and SEO plugin. Open the compatibility screen to see which component owns schema and llms.txt. Keep enhancement mode when you want an existing provider to retain ownership.

2. Run the site scanner

Open the AI Scanner, run the checks and read the details behind warnings. The dashboard checks configuration and local signals. Additional product checks appear on WooCommerce sites; a score is not a forecast of AI citations.

3. Inspect a real response

Choose an important published page. Open its HTML normally, then request ?format=markdown or a supported .md URL. Confirm that the body contains the current title and content.

curl -i -H "Accept: text/markdown" https://example.com/your-page/

4. Check llms.txt and schema

Open the llms.txt settings diagnostics and inspect the public response. A static file, SEO provider or server rule may own the URL. On your chosen page, inspect JSON-LD and confirm the site identity, page facts and provider integration. See llms.txt troubleshooting and schema configuration.

5. Collect activity and choose the next action

Crawler logs and AI referrals need real requests before they show meaningful trends. Check cache limitations first. If you want tools to read the dashboard, follow the Abilities and MCP setup. For a shop, review the platform-specific add-ons before enabling commerce actions.

Next step

Continue with the quick start checklist, or check the common questions. For a reproducible problem, send the plugin versions, affected URL, expected result and actual response through Support. Do not include passwords, license keys or customer details.
